  1. The Smurfs lost me when they went to Egypt, or wherever the hell they were supposed to be. Actually, I think I got a girlfriend about that time, so that might explain it.

Plus, when I perceived that the show became more serialized than episodic, I felt like I would have to devote more than just a Saturday morning to catch up. You know, like Mad Men, or Breaking Bad.

    Yes, exactly just like that.

  2. Thoughts about the Heavy Metal soundtrack.

    1. There are several musicians who I am (or wasn’t) into but who I think did something great for this soundtrack. I’m not sure if that’s just coincidence or if something about the project pulled something extra from some of the artists.

    2. Conventional wisdom is that BOC wrote several of the songs on their album “Fire of Unknown Origin” in hopes of their being used for the Heavy Metal soundtrack, the song “The Pact” is very obviously about the Taarna story from the movie. “Veteran of the Psychic Wars” is the only BOC song in the film and it wasn’t actually written for that purpose, but it does have the distinction of having lyrics by author Michael Moorcock.
